Luminyl™ is a yet another new optical material available from Lucent Optics.  This optically transmissive material possesses somewhat similar optical characteristics to Daylighting Fabric™, but is more rigid and available in the form of films and panels in a wide range of thicknesses from about 10 mil (0.25 mm) to several millimeters. Likevise, Luminyl provides very high bend angles (up to almost 180°) and is available in clear-view and diffuse options.

Luminyl™ finds its utility in various light management applications, including daylighting systems, lighting diffusers and solar energy harvesting systems. Luminyl™ is also available in a configuration that provides light redirection in two dimensions which can be useful for spreading light from a directional light source into a very broad angular range.
